The film comes from the same team of Pulimurugan with director Vysakh, writer Uday Krishna and action-choreographer Peter Hein reuniting. There are certain reports doing the rounds regarding the satellite rights of Mammootty-Vysakh team's Madura Raja. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the satellite rights of Madura Raja have been sold to a private channel and that too for a record price. The reports also indicate that it has overtaken the record of Pulimurugan.

Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan had hit the theatres in the month of October. Initially, reports had surfaced that the film had made a business of approximately 15 Crores, including the satellite rights and the overseas rights.
