Theevandi Box Office Day 1 Collections: A Fine Start To The Journey!

Theevandi kick-started its journey in the theatres yesterday (September 7, 2018), and the Tovino Thomas starrer, directed by debut film-maker Fellini TP, has received good reviews on its very first day. The movie tagged as a satire narrates the tale of a chain-smoker and going by the initial reports, it has to be assumed that the audiences have accepted this well-woven tale.
In fact, Theevandi did get a grand release across the state, thus making it one of the biggest releases of Tovino Thomas' so far. Going by the reports, the film had got an equally good opening with crowds pouring into the theatres right from the initial shows. Theevandi had as many as 20 shows on its opening day at the Kochi multiplexes. According to a report by Forum Keralam, Theevandi managed to fetch 5.64 Lakh on its opening day at an impressive occupancy rate of 89%.

In Comparison With Maradona
Tovino Thomas's previous release was Maradona, which had released by the end of June. Maradona, which had 11 shows on its opening day, had collected 1.87 Lakh at an occupancy rate of 58%. Theevandi has overtaken Maradona by a large distance.

In Comparison With Ranam
This week's other big release Ranam, which hit the theatres on September 6, 2018, also had a good start at the Kochi multiplexes. The film had fetched 6.56 Lakh on Day 1 from 25 shows. In terms of collections, Theevandi is slightly behind and, at the same time, the Tovino Thomas starrer had a better occupancy rate on the opening day.
