Vishwaroopam 2 Box Office Day 1: How Well Did The Movie Perform At The Kochi Multiplexes!

Vishwaroopam 2, the Kamal Haasan starrer, was indeed one of the most anticipated Tamil movies of this month. Being the second part to the blockbuster movie Vishwaroopam 2, the film which has been directed by Kamal Haasan himself has hit the theatres amidst huge expectations.
In Kerala, Vishwaroopam 2 did get a big release with the movie grabbing as many as 200 theatres across the state. The platform was perfectly set for the film to score big and the film did get a solo release. At the Kochi multiplexes, which is one among the top most collecting centers for other language movies, Vishwaroopam 2 got the perfect platform for a big beginning. At The Kochi Multiplexes
On its opening day, Vishwaroopam 2 got as many as 20 shows and it reigned at the top in the list of movies with maximum number of shows. The advance booking for the film was pretty average.
Opening Day Collections
Vishwaroopam 2 went on to fetch an OK opening at the Kochi multiplexes. According to a report by Forum Keralam, the movie managed to fetch 3.71 Lakhs at an occupancy rate of 48%.
In Comparison With Kaala
Vishwaroopam 2 is behind Kaala, the other big tamil movie release of the year, in terms of day 1 collections at the Kochi multiplexes. Kaala had fetched approximately 10.3 lakhs on day 1 but it has to be noted that Kaala had 40 shows on the opening day.

The Way Ahead
Vishwaroopam 2 has been receiving mixed reviews upon its release. The film is continuing with 20 shows/day at the Kochi multiplexes and the Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring in more collections for the movie.
