Lucifer, the biggest box office success of the Malayalam movie industry is all set to have a sequel very soon. The second part, which has been titled 'Empuraan' was officially launched recently by lead actor Mohanlal, director Prithviraj Sukumaran, and team. According to the team, Empuraan is not just a continuation of Lucifer, but will be both a prequel and sequel to the movie.

Empuraan, which is expected to go on floors by mid-2020, is scripted by Murali Gopy. The highly anticipated sequel to Lucifer is expected to be made on a bigger scale and is produced by Antony Perumbavoor for Aashirvad Cinemas. Empuraan is expected to hit theatres by the first half of 2021.
