The Priest, the upcoming Mammootty starrer is one of the most-awaited upcoming films of Malayalam cinema. The shooting of the much-awaited project has been put on a hold now due to the all India lockdown. As per the latest updates, The Priest, which features Mammootty in the titular role, is a unique horror thriller.
The exciting update was revealed by the popular musician Rahul Raj, who has composed music for the project, during a live interaction with his fans on his official Instagram page. Rahul Raj asked the audience to wait for The Priest, while a fan asked the musician when will he compose music for a horror film. He also added that the Mammootty starrer will be a unique horror experience.
As reported earlier, Mammootty is playing the role of a priest for the first time in his career in the movie, which is directed by newcomer Jofin T Chacko. The Priest will also mark the megastar's first onscreen collaboration with Manju Warrier, the lady superstar of the Malayalam film industry. Even though Manju is not appearing as the female lead opposite Mammootty in the project, she is playing a very important character.
Nikhila Vimal, the young actress essays a pivotal role in The Priest, which features Saniya Iyappan, Sreenath Bhasi, Kaithi fame Baby Monica, Jagadeesh, Ramesh Pisharody, Madhupal, Dinesh Panicker, Sivadas Kannur, Naseer Sankranthi, Tony Luke, Karikku fame Ameya Mathew, and so on in the supporting roles. The movie is jointly penned by Deepu Pradeep and Cocktail fame Shyam Menon.
As per the reports, Mammootty has already wrapped up his portions for the project before the all India lockdown was imposed. The rest of the portions will be filmed once the lockdown comes to an end. The Priest is jointly produced by Anto Joseph, filmmaker B Unnikrishnan, and VN Babu, under the banners Anto Joseph Film Company and RD Illuminations.
