Ram, the upcoming action thriller that features Mohanlal, the complete actor in the titular role, is one of the most-anticipated Malayalam films of the year. The project marks Mohanlal's second collaboration with the popular filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, after the great success of the 2013-released thriller Drishyam. Reportedly, Ram has not got a new addition to its star cast.

David John, the young actor who is best known for his stint with the popular reality show Bigg Boss Malayalam, has been roped in to play a negative role in the movie. The young actor confirmed the reports in a recent interview given to a popular daily and revealed that he has already begun filming for the Mohanlal starrer.

According to David John, it was Mohanlal who recommended him for his character in Ram. The actor is overwhelmed with the fact that the complete actor recommended for a notable character in such a big project. David feels that Ram will be a major turning point in his acting career.

The makers have already wrapped up the Delhi, Dhanushkodi, and Himachal Pradesh schedules of Ram, which is scripted by director Jeethu Joseph himself. The team is planning to wrap up the Kochi schedule once the all India lockdown is over. initially, it was reported that the London schedule of Ram will begin by the end of March 2020. But the team had to cancel the plans due to the coronavirus scare.

Ram, which features Mohanlal in the titular character is said to be a realistic action thriller. Trisha Krishnan, the popular actress is appearing as the female lead in the movie, thus marking her first collaboration with both Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph. Trisha is reportedly playing the role of Dr. Vineetha, the wife of Ram in the movie.

The big-budget venture also features an extensive star cast including Indrajith Sukumaran, Bollywood actor Adil Hussain, Prachi Tehlan, Liyona Lishoy, Durga Krishna, and so on in the supporting roles. Ram is slated to hit the theatres for Pooja 2020.
