Mahaveeryar Twitter Review: Did Nivin Pauly's Time Travel Film Impress The Twitterati?
Mahaveeryar, the highly anticipated Nivin Pauly-starrer has finally hit the theatres today (July 21, Thursday). The movie, which is touted to be a fantasy drama, marks Nivin Pauly's comeback to the theatres after a long gap of over 3 years. Mahaveeryar also marks the actor's third collaboration with director Abrid Shine.
The first reviews of the fantasy drama suggest that the makers have crafted a highly enjoyable time travel film, which is the first of its kind in Malayalam cinema. Nivin Pauly, who has played the role of a sage named Apoornanandan in Mahaveeryar, is also receiving excellent reviews for his performance. The project has also marked Nivin's reunion with contemporary actor Asif Ali, who has played the role of Veerabhadran.

#mahaveeryar 2nd half is an average. #NivinPauly #AsifAli #Lal #Sidhique and others have given their best. Weak writing in the second half, thus it dint work well. A different attempt on the fantasy time travel film that deals with courtroom proceedings.

Nivin Pauly's excellent performance & Technical Side is in this movie is worth mentioning 👍🏻
The fun part in the first half was lost in the middle and the absence of Nivin in the second half caused such a low !!
Both Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali are appearing in entirely different get-ups in Mahaveeryar. From the teaser and trailer, it is evident that the Abrid Shine directorial revolves around a few individuals from a forgotten kingdom who get stuck in the modern timeline. According to the filmmaker, he was planning to cast Nivin Pauly in a double role, as both Apoornanandan and Veerabhadran. But the actor-producer wanted to cast Asif Ali for the role of Veerabhadran instead.
Shanvi Srivastava, the popular South Indian actress, is appearing as the female lead in Mahaveeryar, thus marking her debut in the Malayalam Film Industry. The project features an extensive star cast including Lal, Lalu Alex, Mallika Sukumaran, Siddique, Sudheer Karamana, Major Ravi, Vijay Menon, Padmaraj Ratheesh, Prajod Kalabhavan, and others in the pivotal roles.
Chandru Selvaraj is the director of photography. Manoj has handled the editing. Ishaan Chhabra has composed the songs and original score. Vishnu Govind and Sree Shankar have handled the sound design.
