Agent Day 1 Kerala Collection: Mammootty Starrer With Akhil Akkineni Gets Below-Average Openings

Akhil Akkineni starrer Agent, which has Malayalam superstar Mammootty in a prominent role, was released all over the world on April 28. Upon its theatrical release, the movie was met with a lukewarm response.

The Agent is the story of three RAW agents, who are the best in their craft. Colonel Mahadev (Mammootty) trains The God (Dino Morea) and Rama Krishna aka Rikki (Akhil). God turns rogue and heads the underworld by dictating every government and political move in India.

Mammootty, who is nicknamed Devil had a meaty role that is author-backed in Agent. It is only his role and that of Rikki, which have character arcs in the entire play. Mammootty was terrific on the screen portraying the role of Colonel Mahadev, who puts country first even if it involves emotions and relations.

The viewers can see why Mammootty came on board for the role in the film Agent, and it rightly justifies it. However, the movie didn't manage to open to a warm reception in Kerala.

Agent Day 1 Kerala Box Office Collection

On the release day, Akhil Akkineni Mammootty's Agent made only Rs 28.5 Lakh from Kerala. These figures indicate the below-average openings for a superstar's film. The occupancy ratio was also less. With not much buzz around it, and having the epic like Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 2 pitched against, Agent is sure to suffer losses.

Agent Cast

The film stars veteran superstar Mammootty, Bollywood actor Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, Vikramjeet Virk, Denzil Smith, and Sampath Raj among others in crucial roles. Bollywood model and actress Urvashi Rautela will be seen shaking a leg for a special song titled 'Wild Saala,' which was released recently.

Agent Crew

Vakkantham Vamsi, who is a writer-director has written the story for Agent. Another director-cinematographer Rasool Ellore cranked the camera for the film. George C Williams worked on a song. Naveen Nooli worked as the Editor while popular Kollywood music duo Hiphop Tamizha composed the entire soundtrack and score for Agent.

The movie was produced by Rambrahmam Sunkara under the AK Entertainments banner in association with Surender 2 Cinemas. The movie Agent has been shot at various locations in and around Hyderabad, Budapest, Visakhapatnam, and Manali.
