Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 Launch Updates: Much-Awaited Reality Show Hosted By Mohanlal Sets Off!

The brand new season of the world's biggest reality show concept's regional edition on Malayalam television, Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 5 has jetted off to an enthusiastic start. Veteran actor-producer Mohanlal is hosting the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 which will be his fifth time, as he has been hosting it since the show's inception in Malayalam. Fans of the reality show and the rumoured contestants are waiting with bated breath for the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 to kick-start. The mega premiere went on air at 7 pm on March 26.

The season's first episode of housemates introduction began with a bang as Mohanlal called out the contestants onto the stage to perform. This season of the Malayalam Bigg Boss 5 has a common man as one of the housemates, who will enter the house along with the rest of the contestants to take part in the reality show. This time, 18 contestants are going to enter the Bigg Boss Malayalam season 5 house with an aim to stay in the house for over 100 days, without any touch with the physical world.

The reality show will go on air on the Asianet channel from 9.30 pm on weekdays and at 9 pm on weekends, where the host will enthrall the viewers and housemates. Every weekend episode will have one or two eliminations until the show comes to an end with the final five. Alternatively, Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 can be streamed online on Disney Plus Hotstar.

Here is a list of the housemates who were sent into the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house, so far:

1) Reneesha Rahiman

The first contestant to enter the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house is Reneesha Rahiman. She is a Television actress and is a fame of 'Seetha Kalyanam.' She is from Palakkad and is taking part in the show to win for her family and support them.

2) Rinosh George

Actor-Singer Rinosh George entered the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house as the contestant number two. The 'I'm a Mallu' song Singer was born and brought up in Bengaluru. He said that he wants to get connected to his fans and viewers through a big platform.

3) Cerena Ann Johnson

The third contestant to enter the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house is the title winner of Miss Queen Kerala 2022, Cerena Ann Johnson. She said, "I am here to win and if you like the way I represent myself, please support me." Cerena is also part of 'Miss Universe UAE 21 and International Glam Queen 2019' beauty pageants. Cerena is a Dubai-based Malayalee.

4) Sobha Vishwanath

She is one of the successful entrepreneurs in Kerala and belongs to Thiruvananthapuram. She started a textile and clothing business under the name 'Weavers Village', a handlooms store in 2012. Her work towards upholding the handlooms and supporting weavers of Balaramapuram were appreciated. She became an important socialite in Kerala and is also a philanthropist. However, she was also arrested for possession of drugs. But, the case was later dismissed as she was framed in the case.

5) Sagar Surya

Sagar is an actor and he started his career in 2018 with 'Thatteem Mutteem' on Mazhavil Manorama. Later he tried to make a mark in the movie industry and his film is 'Kuruthi.' The 30-year-old actor is the fifth housemate of the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 reality show.

6) Vishnu Joshi

A fitness model-cum-trainer, Vishnu Joshi is a social media influencer. He gained popularity through his videos about workout on his social media handles. He flaunts his toned physique and gains attention.

7) Angeline Mariya

The 'Nalla Samayam' actress Angeline Mariya is the seventh contestant to enter the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house. The actress hit the headlines recently for her comments on usage of drugs while promoting a film.

8) Sridevi Menon AKA Viber Good Devu

Social media influencer Viber Good Devu made a dashing entry with a classical dance. She is one of the most loved influencers on Instagram for her motivational talks. She entered the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house as the 8th contestant.

9) Junaiz VP

Junaiz VP is another content creator, who rose to popularity through his social media handles. He entered the house as a 9th housemate said, "In this war, many might have entered to be the kind or the minister. But, I will always give them a tough competition." He performed on 'Romancham' for the launch event, before going inside the house.

10) Akhil Marar

Director Akhil Marar is now the 10th contestant in the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 show. Akhil kick-started his career with 'oru Thathvika Avalokanam' starring Aju Varghese and Joju George. He is a person who always makes controversial comments.

11) Aliya AKA Anjuz Rosh

Anjuz is a social media influencer and is known for her peculiar looks. She is a voice of many social issues and is a Video Jockey. She is also a budding actress. Mohanlal, upon her introduction called her a dynamite.

12) Maneesha KS

Maneesha is a actress and Singer. She is popular for her character Vasavadatha in 'Thatteem Mutteem.' The singer crooned for 'Thane Thirinjum Marijum', a popular Malayalam song.

13) Aniyan Midhun

Wushu Champion, and a mixed martial arts performer Aniyan made a rocking entry into the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house as the 14th contestant. Aniyan holds the record of being the first ever south-Indian to be part of Wushu team.

14) Nadiya Mehrin

A transwoman, Nadira entered the house as the 15th contestant, who is called an inspiration to all by the veteran Mohanlal.

15) Lachu Gram AKA Aiswarya Suresh

Actress Aiswarya is a dancer and rose to popularity through 'Super Dancer Junior.' She is best known for her work in the film 'Thinkalazhcha Nichayam.' She is born in Africa and is known for her glamorous pictures on social media.

16) Shiju AR AKA Shiju Abdul Rasheed

Shiju is an actor and is a popular name in the Mollywood industry. He enjoyed a 'Chocolate Hero' image and is a popular face in Tamil as well as Telugu industries. His latest movie as the lead was in 'Neeyum Njanum.'

17) Sruthi Lakshmi

Actress Sruthi Lakshmi is a popular face on Malayalam Television as well as films. She is a classical dancer and has been acting since a young age. She also received an award for Best Actress category for her role in 'Pokkuveyil.' She played significant roles in several films as well.

18) Gopika Gopi

Gopika Gopi holds the position of becoming the first-ever Malayalee to win the opportunity to participate in the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 reality show as a commoner. She was selected for the game show through auditions for the common people, who were asked to apply for taking part in the show. She belongs to Thodupuzha.

After all the 18 housemates were sent into the Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 house, Mohanlal locked the door for the season. These housemates were then greeted by him through the television. Mohanlal asked the viewers of the reality show and fans to vote carefully for their favourite contestants.
