Superstar Rajinikanth's recent blockbuster, Jailer, is continuing to enthrall the fans of the veteran and the movie buffs. The dark comedy-thriller movie written and directed by Nelson set a new record at the Kerala box office.

Jailer Sets A Record At Kerala Box Office

The Rajinikanth-starrer became one of the most remarkable films in Kollywood and Mollywood with its box office collections. The movie earned a total of Rs 57.7 Crore in Kerala, becoming the all-time blockbuster.

Nelson's directorial Jailer surprisingly became the fastest Tamil film to enter the milestone in just two weeks, with the first being Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan 1. By the time of calculating the closing collection of Jailer (Kerala), the movie earned Rs 17.6 Crore more than the second-highest-grossing Tamil film in Kerala.

Superstar Rajinikanth's movie has already achieved a remarkable feat in Kerala. Nelson Dilipkumar's directorial became the first-ever Tamil film to gross over Rs 50 Crore. Against an invested budget of about Rs 200 Crore- Rs 240 Crore, Jailer already collected worldwide earnings between Rs 600 and Rs 635 Crore.

Jailer movie stars superstar Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, Naga Babu, Kishore, Redin Kingsley, Saravanan, SunilReddy, Aranthangi Nisha, Uday Mahesh, G Marimuthhu, and Mahanadi Shankar, among others in key roles. In addition, the movie features Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shiva Rajkumar in cameos.

Kalanithi Maran produced the movie under the Sun Pictures banner. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera. R Nirmal worked as the editor of Jailer.
