A retired bank manager Mathew Devassy wants to contest in the local panchayat elections. In what could be called a twisted knot, his wife Omana files for divorce suggesting that Mathew was homosexual. How and what Mathew does to fight for his personal and social life by fighting these allegations forms the crux of Kaathal-The Core.
