Popular Malayalam actor, director, and screenwriter Joy Mathew met with an accident on the night of September 4, 2023. He sustained injuries after his car collided with a pick up van.

The incident took place when Joy Mathew was traveling through the Chavakkad-Mandalamkunnu National Highway 66. During the accident, another person other than Joy Mathew also got hurt. According to the available information, Joy Mathew was enroute Ernakulam from Kozhikode when the collision happened.

The local people are reportedly trying to rescue the driver of the pickup van, who got stuck inside due to the impact of the collision. Joy Mathew, meanwhile, was rushed to a private hospital in Chavakkat. Further details are awaited.
