Mappilapattu Singer Vilayil Fazeela Passes Away: Famous Mappilapattu singer Fazeela passed away due to cardiac arrest at the age of 63 years. She died at her residence in Velliparam, Kozhikode.

She was born as the daughter of Ullattuthodi Kelan and Cherupenn couple in Valailil in Cheekode Panchayat of Malappuram district. She was known as Vatsala. Later she converted to Islam and changed her name as Fazeela. The late Mappilapattu singer VM Kutty led the way for her into the music industry.

Fazeela sang for the first time in the film 'Muhammad Mustafa' with the song 'Ahadavanaya Perione...' composed by PT Abdurrahman with music by MS Viswanathan. She has participated in many programs that have been conducted at Kerala and abroad. Hasbi Rabbi Jallallah, I saw the Ka'ba on the night of Hajj, I fell in love with the whole world, I immediately fell on my neck, Ane Madanapoo, Drunk in tears, Manimanchalil, Patapu Patapod, Rahmanallah, Ummul Quravil, Yatimenne, Makkat Ponore are some of her famous songs.

She has received many awards like Lifetime Achievement Award, Folk Lore Academy Life Achievement Award and Mappila Kala Ratnam Award.
