The Malayalam industry has been unique and is continuing to make enthralling films that are not only blockbusters but also off-beat, content-oriented, and entertaining all of these aspects put together.

The industry has produced some of the best romantic, action, crime, thriller, and horror movies since time immemorial and the new-age actors are only taking Mollywood to the international platform with their sheer hard work and talent.

The films have been garnering not only widespread acclaim but also raking the moolah. Veteran Mohanlal's 2016's film directed by Vysakh, Pulimurugan is still continuing to reign the industry in terms of making the highest money at the box office.

Bheeshma Parvam is an action drama released in 2022 starring Mammootty, Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Soubin Shah, and Anagha. The movie was directed by Amal Neerad and was made on a budget of Rs 15 Crore.

Dulquer's crime thriller Kurup, which was released in 2021 was a successful film that stars Sobhita Dhulipala, Tovino Thomas, Shine Tom Chacko, and Walid Riachy among others. The movie was directed by Srinath Rajendran.

Romancham is a horror-comedy, which was directed by Jithu Madhavan. The movie was a sleeping success and was a rage all over the southern film industries. The movie is said to be based on a real-life incident.

The 2015 release Premam needs no introduction and the movie which was directed by Alphonse Puthren was made on a humble budget of Rs 4 Crore and collected about Rs 76 Crore.
