Recently, the Malayalam star met with an accident on the sets of Vilayath Buddha. He hurt his leg, which caused a ligament injury. For the treatment, he underwent keyhole surgery in his leg. He was on a complete rest for two months.

As per Vilayath Buddha's director Jayan Nambiar, the unfortunate incident took place when Prithviraj was deboarding a bus during the shoot. In a tweet he wrote, "He slipped and injured his ligament," the filmmaker told Cue Studio. He was immediately admitted to a private hospital in Ernakulam, where he underwent the surgery.
