DULQUER SALMAAN REACTS TO SIDDIQUE DEMISE

Dulquer Salmaan penned a post to share his pain as Siddique left for his heavenly abode. He called the late filmmaker a 'gifted writer and director'. Remembering his contribution to Indian cinema, he said that Siddique's death was a major loss to the industry.

The Sita Ramam actor offered his condolences to the late director's family and hoped that they get the strength to deal with the loss.

"The gentlest soul. The kindest human. A gifted writer/director. The most incredible humor hiding behind his soft demeanour. He gave us some of the most iconic films. Part of our pop culture and referred to in our everyday conversations. This is an immeasurable loss. Prayers and strength to Siddique Sirs' family and loved ones," Dulquer wrote on Instagram.

Manju Warrier wrote, "The moments of laughter you've gifted us will always remain. Adieu to one of my favourites! #RIP." She said that Siddique was one of her favourite directors, with whom she worked in films.

Tovino Thomas paid his homage on Instagram by writing, "Rest in peace sir."

The prominent director died in Kochi. The filmmaker was admitted to a hospital in the city last month after he suffered from a liver ailment. Siddique was placed on ECMO support after he suffered a heart attack on August 7.

The mortal remains will be kept at a stadium in Kochi for his fans to pay their last respect. The funeral will be conducted on Wednesday (August 9) in the evening.

On the professional front, Siddique last directed Big Brother, which released in 2020. The action flick starring Mohanlal and Arbaaz Khan couldn't set the box office on fire as it received negative reviews from the critics and audience.
