Singer Chithra Pens Emotional Note Remembering Late Daughter: Life Is Not The Same

Popular playback singer KS Chitra took to her social media space and shared a heart-wrenching note remembering her late daughter, Nandana. The 8-year-old accidentally drowned in a swimming pool on April 14, 2011. The accident happened when Chithra was in Dubai along with her family to perform at an AR Rahman concert.
Remembering her late daughter, Chithra shared her daughter's photo and wrote, "Our hearts are full of memories. With pride we speak your name. Life goes on without you, but it will never be quite the same. In loving memory of our dearest Nandana Mol." Her fans took to the comments section and offered condolences to Chithra and prayed for her daughter's soul to rest in peace.
A fan wrote, "A personal loss is irreplaceable. Hope you derive strength from her memories, ma'am. Thank you for spreading divinity through your voice. Wishing you love and peace." Another fan wrote, "Her love for you is all you've been receiving and will still receive from all your children you have. Love you Chitra ma."
Nandhana, who was eight when she died, was with Chithra in a villa in Dubai. When the accident happened, Chithra left her daughter in a room and stepped out to take a shower. Within minutes, Nandana reportedly opened the door and stepped into a swimming pool, where she drowned.
It was apparently too late to save the child after she was pulled out of the pool. When she was taken to the hospital in Jebel Ali, her lungs were full of water. When she was taken to the emergency room of the hospital, she was reportedly dead already.
Nandana was born to Chithra and Vijay Shankar in their 14th year of marriage. The child, who suffered from Down Syndrome, was reportedly named after the Malayalam movie Nandanam featuring Navya Nair.
