The Kerala Story Box Office: Film Earns Rs 100 Crore In The First Week; Starts On A Huge Note In Australia

The Kerala Story has been running successfully despite allegations and the movie earned a whopping Rs 100 Crore in a period of seven days after its theatrical release.

Due to the film's story, the INC and CPI parties have accused the filmmakers of defaming the state of Kerala and promoting the agenda of the Sangh Parivar.

Meanwhile, given the film's successful word-of-mouth, the makers have released the movie in Telugu version in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on May 13. In addition, the movie was also opened internationally, with Australia being one of the countries to witness huge openings.

The Kerala Story Cast

The movie stars Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, Siddhi Idnani, Devadarshini, Vijaya Krishna, Pranay Pachauri, and Pranav Misshra in key roles.

The Kerala Story Premise

The movie charts the journey of a woman named Shalini Unnikrishnan, who wants to become a nurse but gets abducted from her home after converting to Islam. She is then forced into ISIS and ends up in a prison in Afghanistan.

The movie is produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who is also the co-writer and creative head of the movie. Prasantanu Mohapatra cranked the camera and Sanjay Sharma edited the movie. Viresh Sreevalsa and Bishakh Jyoti worked as the film's music composers. The movie was written by Suryapal Singh, and Sudipto Sen along with Vipul Shah.

The movie was made on a budget of about Rs 20 Crore under the Sunshine Pictures banner.
