Anand Ekarshi Talks About Aattam's Prestigious National Win: Aattam movie which was released theatrically after screenings at the prestigious international film events has put up a stellar show stealing the moment at the latest 70th National Film Awards event. The movie earned critical acclaim from critics and audiences after its release on January 5.
Speaking about the big win, Anand was quoted saying exclusively to Zoom about how it felt hearing about the win for the first time. According to a report on TimesNow, the Aattam filmmaker elaborated, "I was at my editor's studio, along with a few actor friends when the press conference was happening. I got a few calls from the media on the previous day saying that there are high chances of Aattam winning some awards and all.
While we were watching this, suddenly when the award for the best editor was announced, I was super elated because honestly speaking after we had finished the movie and throughout the festival run I was slightly disappointed that nobody was speaking about the edit of the film. I'm not talking about the normal audience but the filmmakers, the other technicians or people who have been working on the film. I really thought that the editing of Aattam was a masterful craft.
And I don't know, I really wanted to keep it subtle, but I was not able to. Then it was followed up by the best screenplay and the best film itself. So it is something that, became very surreal by the time the best film was also announced. It became very surreal and you know to get three national awards for your debut film cannot even all it a dream come true because you know I have never ever dreamt to this sort of an extent. Surreal would be the best word."
