Foodie Menon Arrested For Extorting Money And Gold From Young Woman After Establishing Friendship

Foodie Menon Arrested: In a startling turn of events, Ernakulam's Kadaikkal Jayashankar Menon, known in the social media sphere as Foodie Menon, was apprehended by the East Police for allegedly extorting money and gold from a young woman.

The arrest came following a complaint lodged by a doctor from Thrissur, accusing Menon of coercing her into parting with more than seven lakh rupees and a significant amount of gold.

Allegations Against Foodie Menon Unveiled

The doctor alleges that she fell victim to repeated extortion attempts orchestrated by Menon, who exploited their friendship. The modus operandi reportedly involved threats to share intimate selfies between them on Instagram. According to the complainant, the accused had been intimidating her persistently from January 14 to December 30 of the previous year.

Authorities revealed that Menon received a staggering sum of Rs. 7,61,600 through bank transactions. Additionally, he allegedly used the victim's bank card to withdraw funds illicitly. Furthermore, the accused stands accused of pilfering approximately 30 pavans of gold from the victim's possession.

Jayashankar Menon, prior to his arrest, enjoyed widespread popularity as a content creator specialising in food vlogs on various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, under the moniker 'Foodie Menon'. With a substantial following numbering in the hundreds of thousands, his arrest has sent shockwaves through his online community.
