Actress Shivani Bhai Recalls Harassment Experience In Malayalam Film Industry: The #MeToo wave in Mollywood is taking dramatic and shocking turn with each passing day. In the aftermath of Hema Committee Report, published on 19th August, several female actresses, junior artists, technicians among others from the Malayalam film industry has been coming forward and narrating the shocking and horrid tales of casting couch experiences, s*xual harassments, nasty power game and gender discrimination against them in Mollywood. Amid the ongoing controversy, Malayalam actress Shivani Bhai has recalled being harassed during shoot and how Mohanlal stood by her.

Hema Committee Report: Shivani Bhai On Being Harassed By 'Drunk' Actor

'Issacinte Kadhakal' actress Shivani Bhai recently shared her bad experience while working in the Malayalam film industry. During an interview with Django Space, the model-actress recalled being harassed by a 'drunk' actor during shoot. Explaining the incident, she said that the actor would 'knock on her door' late at night everyday but would 'run away' before she could even open the door.

"I had only one bad experience. While working on a film, an actor would knock on my door late at night and run away before I could open it. My mother was with me at the time, and she wanted to find who was behind it. We informed the hotel reception. They said there was a party, so it was likely a drunk person from there was doing this," she stated.

"We eventually found out who the actor was. Although the harassment stopped, I didn't receive any film offers for a long time. Later, I learned that the actor had asked not to cast me in any movies," Shivani added. Shivani further shared that when she finally got an opportunity to act in the film 'ChinaTown,' she saw the same actor at the airport. "He even spoke to me in a very friendly way. But during the shoot, Antony Perumbavoor (producer) asked if there was any issue between us, and I said no," she further added.

However, she later understood that the actor didn't want her in the film.

Shivani Bhai Recalls How Mohanlal Helped Her

Talking about the incident, Shivani revealed how Mohanlal stood by her during that time. "But Mohanlal stood by me during that time and assured me that I would remain part of the film," the actress stated.

"It's heartbreaking to hear everyone's stories. We all joined the industry fot the love of films. This kind of behaviour shouldn't happen to anyone. At the same time, people shouldn't make false accusations just to gain fame, as it affects the fight of real survivors," she concluded.
