In accordance with his wishes, there will be no public viewing of the body. However, admirers and well-wishers have been allowed to pay their final respects at his residence until 4 PM today. The funeral is scheduled to take place at 5 PM at the Mavoor Road Public Crematorium.

Several prominent personalities from various fields have visited the residence to honor the late writer and filmmaker. Among those who paid their tributes were actor Mohanlal, director Hariharan, writer and critic M.N. Karassery, Actor Vineeth, Minister A.K. Saseendran, MP Shafi Parambil, M. V. Govindan, Minister P. A. Mohammed Riyas, E. P. Jayarajan and Panakkad Sadiqali Shihab Thangal.

The Kerala government has declared December 26 and 27 as official days of mourning in recognition of M.T. Vasudevan Nair's unparalleled contributions to the arts. All government functions, including the cabinet meeting planned for December 26, have been postponed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to honor his memory.

The announcement of M.T.'s passing led to an outpouring of grief, with a large crowd gathering at Kozhikode's Baby Memorial Hospital, where he breathed his last. His wife, Saraswathy, and daughter, Aswathy, were by his side during his final moments.

As one of Malayalam's most cherished storytellers, his works have left an indelible mark on readers and audiences alike.
