Lijo Jose Pellissery and Mohanlal collaborated for the fifth time for this actioner and met with a decent response at the box office.
Mohanlal-Lijo Jose Pellissery's is a terrific combination. When the duo announced their collaboration and the line of Malaikottai Vaaliban came up, fans wer excited. However, on the very second day, Malaikottai Vaaliban's box office collection dipped by half, shockingly. The Mohanlal-starrer has now pinned all hopes on this weekend.
Malaikottai Vaaliban Premise
Mohanlal played the titular role of Malaikottai Vaaliban, a warrior of great valor and is a reigning hero across the geographies and time. Vaaliban meets Rangapattinam Rangarani, an ethereal dancer in Nooraanathalayur. Here he comes face-to-face with Chamathakan, where Vaaliban is led to his ultimate challenge.
Malaikottai Vaaliban is expected to make a release day revenue of something around Rs 8.5 Crore from Kerala alone on its first and opening day. However, the movie could make only Rs 5.65 Crore from all over India. The long weekend that followed is expected to benefit this Mohanlal's period action drama. Malaikottai Vaaliban Crew
The movie was directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery who co-wrote the film with P.S. Rafeeque. Prashant Pillai composed the film's entire background score and music. Madhu Neelakandan cranked the camera and Gokul Das headed the Art Direction department. Vikram Mor composed the action sequences for Mohanlal's film.
