According to a report published by Manorama, renowned Malayalam actor Bala has been arrested by the Kadavanthara police in Ernakulam, Kerala, based on the serious allegations labelled by ex-wife and singer Amritha Suressh against the 'Bad Boyz' actor.

As per reports, Bala has ill-treated Amrutha "multiple times" including in front of their now 12-year-old daughter Avanthika and relatives.

Amritha Suressh is a popular Malayalam singer who rose to fame after participating in the singing reality show Idea Star Singer Season 2 in 2007. She had met her former husband Bala on the sets of his 2009 film 'Venalmaram', in which she had lent her voice as a playback singer.
