Director Ranjith Accused Of Sexual Assault By Young Man

Young Man Files Sexual Assault Complaint Against Director Ranjith: A young man has recently lodged a sexual assault complaint against renowned director Ranjith, alleging that he was subjected to sexual assault by the filmmaker in 2012. The complainant, a resident of Kozhikode, has reported the incident to a special police team dedicated to investigating complaints within the film industry.

According to the complaint, the young man first encountered Ranjith during a film shoot in Kozhikode. Seeking a career opportunity, he later visited a hotel room where Ranjith allegedly provided him with his phone number written on a tissue paper and requested that he send a message.

Subsequently, the complainant was instructed to travel to the Taj Hotel in Bangalore two days later. Upon his arrival at around 10 p.m., Ranjith reportedly guided him to enter through a back gate and provided alcohol. The young man claims that after being served alcohol, he was forcibly undressed and assaulted by Ranjith, as detailed in his statement reported by Asianet News.

Earlier, Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra had come forward with serious sexual allegations against director Ranjith. The actress revealed that she had a disturbing experience while she was set to act in the film "Paleri Manikyam," directed by Ranjith. Mitra alleged that after being called to his room, Ranjith touched her hands and wrists and then stroked her neck and hair. Following the controversy that erupted after these accusations, Ranjith resigned from his position as Chairman of the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy.
