Minu Kurian Accuses Actors Mukesh And Jayasurya Of Sexual Abuse: Reveals Serious Allegations

Minu Kurian Makes Serious Allegations Against Actors Mukesh and Jayasurya: Actress Minu Kurian (also known as Minu Muneer) has recently brought to light serious allegations of physical abuse against prominent actors Mukesh and Jayasurya. In an interview given to Asianet News, Minu Kurian detailed instances of harassment that she claims occurred during the filming of various projects.
According to Minu Kurian, Jayasurya subjected her to both verbal and physical abuse. She described a specific incident on the set of the film De Ingottu Nokkiye, where Jayasurya allegedly made inappropriate comments, suggesting that cooperation with him would be beneficial for her career. When she resisted his advances, Minu Kurian asserts that he retaliated by denying her opportunities within the industry. The actress revealed that Jayasurya's behavior escalated to physical abuse, including an incident where he unexpectedly grabbed her from behind and continued his harassment even after she turned around to confront him.
In addition to Jayasurya's alleged misconduct, Kurian accused Mukesh of assaulting her during the filming of Calendar. She reported that Mukesh's inappropriate actions extended beyond the set, claiming that he assaulted her in a hotel. Minu Kurian also accused Mukesh of interfering with her membership application to the film industry association, a move she attributes to her refusal to cooperate with him. Furthermore, Minu Kurian alleged that actors Maniyanpilla Raju and Edavela Babu engaged in sexually inappropriate conversations with her.
Minu Kurian stated that she intends to file a formal complaint with a government-appointed special investigation team, seeking justice for the harassment she endured. She also revealed that she had previously shared her experiences with actress Gayathri Varsha, highlighting that she had voiced her concerns years ago but felt that no substantial action was taken at the time.
Minu Kurian Recounts Past Abuse
The troubling incidents Minu Kurian described date back to 2008, during the production of De Ingottu Nokkiye, directed by Balachandra Menon. She recounted an unsettling episode during the film's first shooting at the secretariat, where Jayasurya allegedly grabbed her from behind while she was returning from the toilet and continued his inappropriate behavior despite her attempts to push him away. Minu Kurian fled the scene, while notable actors, including Jagathi Sreekumar, were present at the shooting set. She also mentioned that Jayasurya had later invited her to a flat in Thiruvananthapuram, expressing interest in her, but the advances ceased after she declined.
Despite having reported these incidents in the past, Kurian felt compelled to speak out again following the release of the Hema Committee report. She expressed frustration with Mukesh's dismissal of similar allegations as politically motivated, which prompted her to publicly address these issues once more.
