Mohanlal Re-elected As President Of AMMA: Veteran actor Mohanlal has been re-elected as the president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) for the third consecutive term.

The decision was made unanimously during a meeting held in Kochi on Wednesday. Mohanlal, a stalwart in the Malayalam film industry, will continue his tenure as the head of AMMA. However, alongside Mohanlal's re-election, significant changes are anticipated in other key positions within the actors' association.

Transition and Contest for Key Roles in AMMA Leadership

Edavela Babu, who has served as AMMA's general secretary for several years, announced his resignation. A new general secretary will be elected during the upcoming general body meeting scheduled for June 30. Actors Siddique, Kukku Parameswaran, and Unni Sivapal are slated to contest for the vacant post.

Simultaneously, the competition for the position of AMMA vice president is heating up. Jagadish, Jayan Cherthala, and Manju Pillai are the contenders vying for the vice president roles, currently held by Shwetha Menon and Maniyanpilla Raju.

Reflecting on his decision to step down, Edavela Babu had earlier expressed satisfaction in relinquishing the general secretary role after nearly three decades of service to the association. He had then affirmed that Mohanlal would continue to lead AMMA as president.

The upcoming changes in AMMA's leadership mark a pivotal moment for the influential artists' association, setting the stage for new leadership dynamics amidst Mohanlal's ongoing presidency.
