SOUBIN SHAHIR QUESTIONED BY ED IN MONEY LAUNDERING CASE
In a separate incident, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) recently questioned actor-producer Soubin Shahir on June 14 regarding a money laundering case connected to the producers of the successful Malayalam movie Manjummel Boys. Siraj Valiyathara Hameed, the complainant, alleged that Parava Films promised him a 40% share of the profits due to his substantial investment in the film. However, he alleges that the producers did not fulfill their commitment.
This case was registered on April 23 following the direction of the Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court. Hameed's complaint led to a court order freezing the producers' bank accounts, as they did not pay him the promised profit share. The ongoing investigations into these cases are shedding light on financial practices within the Malayalam film industry, highlighting the need for greater transparency and accountability.
