Siddique Resigns As AMMA General Secretary: In a significant development, Malayalam actor Siddique has resigned from his position as the General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) following allegations of sexual misconduct. According to reports, Siddique submitted his resignation via email to AMMA President Mohanlal.

The resignation follows actor Revathy Sampath's reiteration of the allegations she first made against Siddique in 2019. Revathy accused Siddique of sexual assault, labeling him a criminal. She claimed that the incident occurred in 2016 in Thiruvananthapuram after a preview screening of Siddique's film Sukhamayirikkatte, at Kairali-Nila Theatre, when she was 21 years old.

Reports suggest that the police may pursue a case concerning Revathy Sampath's allegations of sexual abuse. The claim that Sampath, a young actress with aspirations in cinema, was abused at a young age is being treated with the utmost seriousness. This has led to indications that legal action might be taken. Additionally, Sampath has revealed that several of her friends have had similar experiences with the accused.

Revathy Sampath clarified yesterday that she experienced distress at a very young age. The abuse allegedly came from the current AMMA General Secretary. However, it took time for her to speak out about it. Revathy stated that Siddique physically abused her. She entered the film industry with big dreams. After she had completed her Plus Two, Siddique reached out to her, claiming there was a film project and inviting her for a discussion. It was only afterward that the attack occurred, according to the actress.

"If Siddique is the one who referred to the allegations in the Hema Committee report as criminal activity, then isn't he also a criminal? I am not pursuing legal action. I have experienced that much in life," she said.

Revathy revealed that speaking out about the abuse led to her being sidelined in the film industry. Not only has she faced issues, but her friends have also experienced similar problems. Friends have shared that they too have had unpleasant experiences with Siddique. Revathy Sampath expressed hope in the Hema Committee report and emphasized the need for the government to give importance to this matter.
