Tamil superstar Vijay, also the leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, expressed his grief on X (formerly Twitter). "Deeply saddened by the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. He led India with immense wisdom and integrity, who spoke less but did more," he wrote. Vijay continued, emphasizing Singh's immense contribution to India's economy and services to the nation, sending heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and followers.
Telugu film legend Chiranjeevi Konidela also paid his respects, calling Singh one of the "greatest statesmen" the country has ever known. On X, Chiranjeevi highlighted Singh's humility and wisdom, recalling his privileged interactions with the former Prime Minister during his tenure. "His visionary and game-changing contributions as the finance minister and his successful tenure as the 13th Prime Minister of India will remain etched in history," Chiranjeevi said.
Malayalam cinema icon Mammootty, on his Facebook page, wrote, "RIP Dr. Manmohan Singh. Your wisdom, humility, and service to the nation will forever be remembered."
Telugu actors Allu Arjun and Varun Tej also shared their condolences. Allu Arjun wrote on his Instagram story, "His leadership and dedication to the nation will always be remembered. Rest in peace, Sir," while Varun Tej posted, "Heartfelt condolences on the demise of Dr. Manmohan Singh. A visionary leader, his contribution to India's progress will always be cherished."
Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan also extended his condolences on X, sharing his thoughts on the passing of the former prime minister. "India has lost one of its most eminent statesmen and scholars. The passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh marks the end of an era in Indian polity," Kamal Haasan wrote. He went on to highlight Dr. Singh's transformative impact on the nation, noting his visionary economic and social policies. Kamal Haasan praised Singh for his deep commitment to inclusivity and social justice, ensuring that India's progress reached every corner of society. "His legacy will endure in the annals of Indian history, forever remembered as a leader who quietly but profoundly changed the course of the nation," Kamal Haasan added. He concluded with, "My sincerest condolences to his family and to the nation on the loss of one of its finest sons."
