Prabhas Donates ₹2 Crore to Wayanad Landslide Relief Efforts: Telugu film icon Prabhas has made a significant contribution to the relief efforts for the Wayanad landslide victims by donating ₹2 crore to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF). This act of generosity comes as the region grapples with one of the worst disasters Kerala has ever faced.
Prabhas, who was recently celebrated for his role in the blockbuster "Kalki 2898 AD," which has surpassed ₹1,000 crore in earnings, expressed his deep sorrow over the devastation caused by the landslide, reported The Fourth News. He urged everyone to stand with Kerala in this challenging time and conveyed his gratitude for the support and affection he has received from the state.
Prabhas reportedly stated that the landslide in Wayanad is the biggest catastrophe Kerala has ever faced and expressed that he is deeply saddened by the disaster. He also mentioned that he is happy to offer any help he can to the people of Kerala and conveyed that his thoughts and prayers are with the affected individuals.
This is not the first time Prabhas has extended support to Kerala. He previously contributed to the state's relief efforts during the 2018 floods, showcasing his continued commitment to humanitarian causes.
Significant Donations and Relief Efforts Lead by Film Industry Giants
Prabhas's contribution is part of a larger wave of support from South Indian celebrities. Other notable figures who have stepped forward include Mohanlal, Mammootty, Vikram, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Nayanthara, Vignesh Shivan, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya, Suriya, Jyothika, and Karthi.
Suriya, Karthi, and Jyothika collectively donated ₹50 lakh to the CMDRF. Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya each contributed ₹25 lakh, while Mohanlal, Kamal Haasan, and Mammootty each donated ₹25 lakh, ₹25 lakh, and ₹20 lakh, respectively. Vikram and Nayanthara, along with Vignesh Shivan, each gave ₹20 lakh, Dulquer Salmaan provided ₹15 lakh, and Rashmika Mandanna donated ₹10 lakh.
Furthermore, Mohanlal's Vishwashanti Foundation has pledged ₹3 crore towards various relief projects in Wayanad, including the reconstruction of Mundakkai LP School. Mammootty has also offered disaster relief initiatives to support the affected communities.
This collective effort from the South Indian film industry underscores a strong show of solidarity and support for the disaster-stricken Wayanad district of Kerala.
