Tovino Thomas Donates ₹25 Lakh And Essential Supplies for Wayanad Relief Efforts: In response to the devastating landslides in Wayanad, actor Tovino Thomas has extended significant support to the victims of the calamity. Demonstrating his commitment to aiding those affected, Tovino has donated ₹25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Beyond his monetary contribution, Tovino has also responded to reports highlighting issues with plastic plates in relief camps. To address this problem, he has reportedly provided 1,000 steel plates and glasses, ensuring a more sustainable solution.

The landslide in Wayanad has prompted a substantial outpouring of support from the film industry. Actor Asif Ali had earlier called for assistance to help those affected. In a video posted on social media, Asif expressed confidence that the crisis could be overcome through collective effort. He also shared the news of his donation to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, encouraging others to contribute.

Earlier, actor Mohanlal made a generous donation of ₹25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Mohanlal also praised the efforts of emergency responders, including volunteers, policemen, fire and rescue teams, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), and army personnel, for their tireless work in assisting survivors and recovering victims' bodies.

Film Industry Unites to Support Wayanad Landslide Victims

Mohanlal's donation is part of a broader wave of support from the film industry. Leading the way with initial contributions was actor Mammootty, who donated ₹20 lakh through the Mammootty Care Foundation. Following suit, Dulquer Salmaan contributed ₹15 lakh, while the star couple Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim donated ₹25 lakh via their production company, Fahadh Faasil and Friends. Fahadh Faasil announced their support through social media, emphasising the collective effort of the entertainment industry to aid those in need.

The solidarity extended by Tamil cinema stars has also been notable. Suriya, Karthi, and Jyothika collectively donated ₹50 lakh to the relief fund. Actor Vikram, one of the earliest celebrities to respond, contributed ₹20 lakh, while actress Rashmika Mandanna added ₹10 lakh to the cause. Kamal Haasan has further amplified the industry's collective effort by making a generous donation of ₹25 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund, supporting the relief operations and aiding those affected by the Wayanad landslides.

In addition to these efforts, actor Nayanthara and her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, have shown their support by donating ₹20 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. The couple's gesture aims to bolster ongoing relief efforts and aid in the rebuilding process for those impacted by the disaster. Their donation underscores the collective effort required to address the immense challenges faced by the affected families.
