Akhil Marar Shuts Down Rumors On Mammootty's Health, Reveals The Truth Behind Actor's US Trip

Akhil Marar Slams Rumors on Mammootty's Health: Bigg Boss Season 5 winner and filmmaker Akhil Marar has spoken out against the online media frenzy surrounding Malayalam cinema legend Mammootty's health. Marar, who directed Oru Thathvika Avalokanam starring Joju George, took to social media to address the controversy, urging fans not to believe baseless speculations.
According to Marar, the first report about Mammootty's health concerns appeared on the online news platform Marunadan Malayali. He claimed that the report was motivated by two factors: while it is true that the veteran actor had some minor health concerns, the publication allegedly used this factual element to fuel an agenda against the producers of Mammootty's upcoming film. Marar accused journalist Shajan Skariah of personal vendetta, stating that the news report was an attempt to settle scores rather than an objective account of the situation.
Mammootty has been extensively involved in Mahesh Narayanan's much-anticipated film, which brings him together with Mohanlal. The film's production has been a massive undertaking, spanning over 100 days across multiple countries. Marar highlighted Mammootty's dedication, pointing out that despite being 73 years old, the actor performed several intense sequences without concern for his health. This rigorous schedule, coupled with the difficulty of maintaining his usual diet, reportedly led to gastric issues.
Akhil Marar questioned the need for controversy, stating, "Is there anyone in this world who hasn't fallen ill at some point?" He emphasized that Mammootty's condition was not alarming and that he had undergone routine tests. The actor is currently fasting for Ramadan and has completed all his scheduled scenes. With the remaining portions involving Mohanlal and Nayanthara delayed due to their availability, Mammootty chose to take a break and focus on his health. To avoid unnecessary speculation and concerns from fans crowding hospitals, he traveled to the US.
Akhil Marar Reassures Fans, Dismisses Speculations
Reassuring fans, Marar mentioned that Mammootty personally responded to his messages and confirmed that he was doing well. He also expressed his admiration for the actor's relentless passion for cinema, noting that he had been closely following the project since its inception when Mahesh Narayanan first discussed it in Mumbai.
Concluding his post, Marar extended his prayers and best wishes to Mammootty and Mohanlal, expressing hope that the duo, who have shaped Malayalam cinema for decades, continue to thrive in good health. His statement has provided clarity and reassurance to fans, putting an end to unnecessary speculations surrounding Mammootty's well-being.
