Alappuzha Gymkhana OTT Release: The Malayalam sports drama Alappuzha Gymkhana, which hit theaters on April 10, 2025, is now set to make its digital debut. Directed by Khalid Rahman, the film will be available for streaming on SonyLIV starting June 13.

Alappuzha Gymkhana: A coming-of-age sports drama

Set in the coastal town of Alappuzha, the film revolves around a group of five school-leaving friends who, in the wake of uncertain academic futures, decide to take up boxing as a possible route into college. A search for alternative admission options sparks their decision, with sports quota admissions emerging as a viable path.

What follows is a demanding journey of physical training, emotional growth, and evolving friendships. The friends train under a local coach and later come under the mentorship of a state-level boxer, who introduces them to the rigors of the sport. As they prepare for the Kerala State Amateur Boxing Championship, the group faces a series of personal and competitive challenges.

The story unfolds against the backdrop of sports training, adolescent uncertainties, and shifting loyalties, eventually leading the group to moments of reckoning and renewed ambition.

Alappuzha Gymkhana features Naslen in the lead role, with Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Sandeep Pradeep, and Anagha Ravi in key roles. The ensemble cast also includes Franco Francis, Baby Jean, and Shiva Hariharan.

The film is co-written by Khalid Rahman and Sreeni Saseendran, with dialogues penned by Ratheesh Ravi. It is produced by Khalid Rahman along with Jobin George, Sameer Karat, and Subeesh Kannanchery.
