The film, which stars Arjun Ashokan and Anagha Narayanan in the lead roles, began streaming on ManoramaMAX on July 5, allowing viewers to catch up on the story of a newlywed couple navigating social pressures in a conservative rural setting.

Set in a small village in Kannur, Anpodu Kanmani follows the lives of Nakulan (Arjun Ashokan), a quarry businessman, and his wife, Shalini (Anagha Narayanan). The couple's marriage begins on a note of quiet happiness and mutual support. However, their domestic peace is gradually interrupted by society's relentless curiosity about when they will have a child. This seemingly innocuous question - "Any good news?" - turns into a source of discomfort and strain, forcing the young couple to grapple with expectations they aren't ready to meet.

The narrative, penned by Aneesh Koduvally, conveys the emotional toll such pressure can take on individual agency and marital life. What begins as subtle tension soon escalates when Shalini confronts an overbearing relative, triggering a turning point in the story. Through these interactions, the film unpacks the intrusive nature of social norms and the silence that often surrounds such personal struggles.

The supporting cast includes Navas Vallikkunnu, Althaf Salim, Johny Antony, Mala Parvathi, Mridul Nair, and Bhagath Manuel. Together, they reflect a cross-section of village life, portraying various attitudes that range from well-meaning concern to overstepping.

On the technical side, the film is shot by Sarin Raveendran and edited by Sunil S. Pillai. Samuel Aby composed both the songs and background score, while Manu Manjith penned the lyrics.
