Asthra OTT Release: Asthra, a Malayalam mystery thriller set against the scenic backdrop of Wayanad, is gearing up for its digital premiere. After its theatrical release on December 1, 2023, the film is now set to arrive on streaming platform. According to the recent update, Asthra will begin streaming on Manorama Max from July 18, following the platform's acquisition of its digital rights.

Directed by Azaad Alavil and featuring Amith Chakkalakal in the lead, Asthra delves into a string of mysterious killings that unsettle a region already grappling with unrest. The plot kicks off with the brutal murder of two police officers. Their deaths are marked by a chilling symbol, an arrow drawn in blood on the wall. The case falls into the hands of investigation officer Joshy Mathew, who employs unconventional tactics to trace the elusive perpetrators behind the attack.

The screenplay by Vinu K. Mohan and Jiju Raj incorporates psychological and procedural aspects, focusing on the steps of the investigation. The supporting cast includes Suhasini Kumaran, Santhosh Keezhattur, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Sudheer Karamana, Senthil Krishna, Renu Sounder, Jayadushyanth, Abu Salim, Srikanth Murali, Meghanathan, Neena Kurup, and Parasparam Pradeep.

Technically, the film is backed by contributions from cinematographer Mani Perumal and editor Akhilesh Mohan. The background score is composed by Rony Raphael, while the songs are set to music by Mohan Sithara with lyrics from B.K. Harinarayanan and Engandiyur Chandrasekharan. Production design was handled by Shamjith Ravi, with costume design by Arun Manohar and stunt coordination by Mafia Sasi. Visual effects were executed by Baywood Virtual Effects.

Producers Prem Kallat and Prenand Kallat have backed the film Asthra. The production team includes several seasoned names across departments, including PROs A. S. Dinesh and Vazhoor Jose and Media PRO Shejin Alappuzha.
