Action thriller Azadi Heads To OTT After Theatrical Run
Produced by Faizal Raja under the banner of Little Crew Production, Azadi opened in cinemas on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Central Pictures, which also served as the distributor. The film blends action and emotional drama with a narrative rooted in socio-political themes.
The plot revolves around Ganga, a pregnant prisoner admitted to Kottayam Medical College to deliver her child. Accused of murdering a political leader's son, Ganga becomes the center of a high-stakes escape plan orchestrated by her husband Raghu, played by Sreenath Bhasi. The plan, which is supposed to unfold within 24 hours, faces unexpected hurdles as their enemies catch wind of it, leading to a tense and dangerous standoff inside the hospital.
The film's ensemble cast includes Lal as Shivan, Vani Viswanath in the role of a police officer, and Saiju Kurup as Sam, alongside supporting performances from Vijayakumar, Maala Parvathi, Gilu Joseph, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, T.G. Ravi, and Rajesh Sharma.
Azadi features cinematography by Saneesh Stanly and editing by Noufal Abdulla. The music and background score have been composed by Varun Unni, with sound design by Sound Ideas. The production design was handled by Sahas Bala.
As Azadi moves to streaming, viewers who missed its theatrical release now have the opportunity to watch the film on digital platforms, with options for both regional and dubbed language audiences.
