Dies Irae Box Office Collection Day 12: Pranav Mohanlal And Rahul Sadasivan Film Continues Moderate Run

Dies Irae Box Office Collection: The Malayalam horror thriller Dies Irae, directed by Rahul Sadasivan and starring Pranav Mohanlal, has crossed the ₹35 crore mark at the Indian box office after 12 days of its theatrical run. The film, which was released worldwide on October 31, continues to maintain its presence despite a noticeable decline in weekday numbers.
According to box office estimates from Sacnilk, Dies Irae has earned around ₹35.48 crore net in India by the end of day 12. The film opened with ₹4.7 crore on its first Friday and showed steady growth over its opening weekend, collecting ₹5.7 crore on Saturday and ₹6.35 crore on Sunday. However, collections saw a sharp drop once the weekdays began, with earnings of ₹3 crore on Monday and ₹2.6 crore on Tuesday.
The film's first-week total stood at approximately ₹26.45 crore. In its second week, Dies Irae added another ₹9 crore, driven largely by weekend footfall. On its second Friday, the film collected ₹2 crore, followed by ₹3.4 crore on Saturday and ₹2.9 crore on Sunday. The numbers, however, dipped sharply on Monday and Tuesday, with the film earning ₹0.48 crore and ₹0.25 crore, respectively.
Dies Irae Extends Rahul Sadasivan's Thematic Universe
Dies Irae marks another entry in Rahul Sadasivan's growing body of horror thrillers, following Bhoothakalam and Bramayugam, with which it shares a narrative continuity. Produced by Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth under Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios, the film features music by Christo Xavier, cinematography by Shehnad Jalal, and editing by Shafique Mohammed Ali.
The story follows Rohan Shankar (played by Pranav Mohanlal), an architect living in Kerala who begins to experience eerie and inexplicable events following the death of a former acquaintance. As the disturbances intensify, he turns to Madhu, a man versed in traditional exorcism practices, in an attempt to uncover the truth behind the haunting. The narrative explores how personal grief, memory, and unresolved histories intertwine with the supernatural.
Alongside Pranav Mohanlal, the film's ensemble cast includes Gibin Gopinath, Jaya Kurup, Sreedhanya, Madan Babu, and Saiju Kurup, who makes a cameo appearance.
While Dies Irae has shown a decline in daily collections after its second weekend, the film's strong opening and sustained interest among horror thriller audiences have helped it cross a significant milestone in under two weeks of release. Its overall performance positions it as one of the noteworthy Malayalam theatrical runs of the season.
