Eko Box Office Collection: The Malayalam mystery thriller Eko̅, starring Sandeep Pradeep in the lead, has completed ten days at the box office with a steady performance in Kerala and select overseas markets. As the film steps into Day 11 of its theatrical run on December 1, early estimates suggest that the Dinjith Ayyathan directorial has collected approximately ₹17.85 crore net in India so far, according to trade tracking website Sacnilk.
Released in cinemas on November 21, Eko̅ opened to moderate occupancy on its first day, collecting around ₹0.8 crore. Day 10, which fell on Sunday, recorded an estimated ₹2.5 crore based on early rough data. With this, the ten-day India net total stands at around ₹17.85 crore. Trade observers are now watching how the film performs on weekdays during its second week, which will be crucial in determining its final lifetime total.
Cast, crew, and narrative overview
Directed by Dinjith Ayyathan and written and cinematographed by Bahul Ramesh, Eko̅ marks the duo's reunion after their earlier collaboration in Kishkindha Kaandam. The film is produced by MRK Jhayaram under the Aaradyaa Studios banner, making it the production house's debut venture. The cast includes Vineeth, Narain, Binu Pappu, Ashokan, and Biana Momin in prominent roles, along with Sim Zhi Fei, NG Hung Shen, Ranjith Shekhar, and Saheer Muhammed.
Set in the mist-covered hills of Kaattukunnu, the story follows Mlaathi Chedathi and Peeyoos as their lives intersect with the shadowy legacy of Kuriyachan, a complex figure portrayed as both a businessman and an outlaw. The narrative blends elements of myth and crime, exploring moral conflict against a rural backdrop.
Eko̅ also serves as the concluding chapter of Bahul Ramesh's thematic "Animal Trilogy," which includes Kishkindha Kaandam and Kerala Crime Files: Season 2. The trilogy is known for linking standalone stories through shared thematic elements involving crime, ethics, and the subtle presence of animals as symbolic triggers.
With music by Mujeeb Majeed and editing by Sooraj E S, the film's technical crew features several technicians from the Malayalam industry. With its second weekend now behind it, Eko̅ has entered the weekday phase of its second week, where collections typically depend on sustained audience interest.
