Eko Worldwide Box Office Collection: Sandeep Pradeep Starrer Crosses ₹11 Crore In Its Opening Weekend Globally

Eko Worldwide Box Office Collection: The Malayalam mystery thriller Eko, led by Sandeep Pradeep and directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, has posted an encouraging start at the worldwide box office, completing its first three days in theaters on a strong note. The film, which released on November 21, continues its theatrical run as Day 4 draws to a close today (November 24).
Industry tracker AB George shared the early worldwide numbers on X, reporting that the film has amassed an estimated ₹11.60 crore gross over its opening weekend. According to his update, Kerala contributed ₹5.3 crore, while the rest of India generated around ₹1.25 crore. The overseas territories collectively added ₹5.05 crore, pushing the global weekend total past the ₹11-crore mark.
If these figures hold, Eko has surpassed the opening weekend of director Dinjith Ayyathan's earlier film Kishkindha Kaandam, which had posted approximately ₹9.85 crore over four days. The current release has achieved that benchmark in three days, marking the best opening weekend yet for both Dinjith and Sandeep Pradeep.
Film Details and Context
Eko̅ brings together Dinjith Ayyathan and writer-cinematographer Bahul Ramesh once again after their collaboration on Kishkindha Kaandam. The film also marks the debut production venture of Aaradyaa Studios, founded by MRK Jhayaram. Alongside Sandeep Pradeep, the cast includes Vineeth, Narain, Binu Pappu, Biana Momin, Ashokan, and international actors Sim Zhi Fei and NG Hung Shen.
The story is set in the fog-shrouded landscape of Kaattukunnu, following characters Mlaathi Chedathi and Peeyoos as they navigate a series of unsettling events tied to Kuriyachan, a figure viewed variously as a businessman, an outlaw, and a lingering myth. The narrative intersects personal histories, local folklore, and moral dilemmas, blurring the boundaries between legend and lived experience.
The film also represents the concluding chapter in Bahul Ramesh's informal "Animal Trilogy," a thematic grouping that includes Kishkindha Kaandam and Kerala Crime Files: Season 2. While the films are not directly linked by story, they share a narrative approach shaped by moral conflicts and the symbolic presence of animals.
Technical Crew
The technical lineup features music by Mujeeb Majeed, editing by Sooraj E.S., and art direction by Sajeesh Thamarassery. Colour grading was handled at Color Planet Studios by colourist Srik Varier. The project's marketing was carried out by Yellowtooths, with promotions supported by Snakeplant LLP. Subtitles were provided by Vivek Renjit of Break Borders.
As Eko completes its fourth day in theaters, the film's weekday performance will determine whether it can maintain its opening momentum. Industry observers will be watching closely to see how the thriller progresses through the week, both in domestic markets and across overseas territories.
