Empuraan Synopsis

In 2002, communal riots in Gujarat force young Zayed to flee after his family is massacred. Rescued by Khureshi Ab'raam, he grows under his guidance, seeking revenge. Years later, Kerala's political landscape shifts as Jathin Ramdas allies with Balraj, now Baba Bajrangi. As conspiracies unfold globally, Stephen Nedumpally, secretly Ab'raam, returns for a final reckoning.

Mohanlal played Khureshi Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally, while Prithviraj Sukumaran portrayed Zayed Masood Azhar, with Karthikeya Dev appearing as young Zayed. Manju Warrier took on the role of Priyadarshini Ramdas, and Abhimanyu Singh played Balraj Patel, also known as Baba Bajrangi. Tovino Thomas was cast as Jathin Ramdas, Indrajith Sukumaran as Govardhan, and Andrea Tivadar as Michele Menuhin. Jerome Flynn portrayed Boris Oliver, Kishore played Karthik, and Sukant Goel appeared as Munna. Suraj Venjaramoodu played Sajanachandran, while Eriq Ebouaney took on the role of Kabuga. Nikhat Khan appeared as Subhadra Ben, Saniya Iyappan as Jhanvi, and Fazil as Father Nedumpally. Sachin Khedekar played P. K. Ramdas, also known as PKR, with Saikumar as Mahesha Varma and Baiju Santhosh as Murukan. Nandhu portrayed P. S. Peethambaran, Shivaji Guruvayoor played Medayil Rajan, and Aneesh G. Alexx O'Nell played Robert McCarthy, Mikhail Novikov was cast as Sergei Leonov, and Murugan Martin played Muthu. Behzaad Khan appeared as Salabath Hamza, Sshivada as Sreelekha, and Jaise Jose as Xavier. Kalabhavan Shajohn made a cameo appearance as Aloshy Joseph, and Shaun Romy played Aparna. Kainakary Thankaraj was featured in a photo presence as Nedumpally Krishnan. Antony Perumbavoor and Aashish Joe Antony made cameo appearances as Daniel Rawuther and a hitman, respectively, while Rick Yune appeared as the leader of the Shenlong "Shen" Triad.

Director Prithviraj Sukumaran helmed Empuraan, with Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan producing under Sree Gokulam Movies and Aashirvad Cinemas Pvt Ltd. Murali Gopy wrote the film, while cinematography was handled by Sujith Vaassudev and editing by Akhilesh Mohan. Deepak Dev composed the music, and M R Rajakrishnan managed sound design.

The production team included executive producers Suresh Balaje and George Pius, production controller Sidhu Panakkal, and production managers Saji Joseph and Sethu Adoor. Mohandas served as the art director, Don Max was responsible for teaser cuts, and Nirmal Sahadev was credited as the creative director. Action sequences were coordinated by Stunt Silva, with costume design by Sujith Sudhakaran and makeup by Sreejith Guruvayoor. Praveen Ghanta supervised VFX, with contributions from YFX Studios, Labyrinth Studios - Mumbai, Binary Circus, Paperplane, Ident, and DTM. Huseini Barodawala served as the YFX producer, and Vishal Tyagi managed SFX. RP Bala directed multilingual dubbing, while DI work was done at Annapurna Studios, with color grading by Vivek Anand.

The film's project design was credited to Prithviraj Productions, with additional contributions from first associate director Renith Ravindran, finance controller Manoharan K Payyannur, finance manager Basil M Babu, and production manager Sasidharan Kandanassery. Sinat Savier handled still photography, Anand Rajendran (Illuminartist) managed design, and Poffactio oversaw promotions.
