It marks Mohanlal's return to the silver screen after his Barroz failed at the box office late last year. However, the film has already managed to recover the budget of the movie, Rs. 180 Cr, by collecting Rs. 222 Cr from worldwide within 6 days after the release. The movie, which is the sequel of 2019's Lucifer, tells the fictional tale of 2002's Gujarat Riot.
