Empuraan Breaches Rs 200 Crore Mark: After Manjummel Boys, which won appreciation from the movie lovers of all languages in the country, Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran's latest controversial political action-thriller Empuraan became the second Malayalam film to breach the Rs 200 Crore mark at the box office.

Sharing the news, Mohanlal also took to his socials and dropped an exciting Rs 200 Crore poster featuring himself and Prithviraj Sukumaran. He captioned it, "The OVERLORD shatters the 200 crore barrier in style! EMPURAAN makes history! (sic)." Check out the tweet below.

While the makers of the film along with Mohanlal issued a statement regarding the protests that Empuraan ignited among a religious group, the movie shattered the recent sensation, Chhaava movie's records by becoming the fastest Rs 200 Crore grosser within five days of its release. The movie also gained immense support from movie buffs and rationalists who are questioning the double standards of people praising Chhaava and throwing stones at Empuraan.
