Empuraan Box Office Collection: The Malayalam action thriller Empuraan had its worldwide premiere on March 27, 2025. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, the film serves as the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy, with Mohanlal in the lead. Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies and presented by Lyca Productions, the film also stars Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, and Tovino Thomas, along with international actors Jerome Flynn and Eriq Ebouaney. Notably, Empuraan made history as the first Malayalam film to be released in IMAX.

According to film industry tracker AB George's latest post on X (formerly Twitter), Lucifer was the first Malayalam film to surpass ₹50 crore in overseas box office collections. Now, Empuraan has made history by becoming the very first Malayalam film to cross ₹100 crore in overseas markets-and it achieved this feat in just four days. With this remarkable milestone, Empuraan cements its status as a Mollywood overseas industry hit and an all-time blockbuster.

Empuraan Storyline

Amid political turmoil in Kerala, Chief Minister Jathin Ramdas sides with a growing right-wing party led by a figure linked to past communal violence. Meanwhile, a global intelligence network intensifies its pursuit of the elusive Khureshi-Ab'ram, whose past is woven with personal vendettas and international crime. As hidden conspiracies come to light, old rivalries resurface, paving the way for a decisive showdown.

Empuraan Cast And Crew

Mohanlal stars as Khureshi Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally, with Pranav Mohanlal portraying his younger self. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Karthikeya Dev take on the role of Zayed Masood at different stages of life, while Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas play Priyadarshini and Jathin Ramdas, respectively. The ensemble cast also includes Abhimanyu Singh, Sukant Goel, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. International actors Jerome Flynn, Andrea Tivadar, and Eriq Ebouaney appear alongside Nikhat Khan, Saniya Iyappan, Fazil, and Sachin Khedekar, with special appearances by Antony Perumbavoor and Rick Yune.
