Recently, Empuraan fell under negative limelight after the film showed Hindus in a bad way, to which Mohanlal expressed himself saying, "I have come to know that some political and social themes that were included in the unveiling of Empuran, the second part of the Lucifer franchise, have caused considerable distress among many of my loved ones," the actor wrote in a Facebook post.
"As an artist, it is my duty to ensure that none of my films promote hatred towards any political movement, ideology, or religious group. Therefore, both I and the Empuran team express our sincere regret for the distress caused to my dear ones, and we all take responsibility for it, with the realization that such issues must be removed from the film," he wrote in Malayalam.
Further concluding the post, "For the past four decades, it is you, the audience, who have been a part of my cinematic journey. Your love and trust are my strength. I believe there is no Mohanlal beyond that."
Prithviraj Sukumaran On Working With Mohanlal
Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran opened up on working with Mohanlal, "Directing him is the easiest thing to do. He's the easiest to direct. He is very gifted, very obviously but I don't just mean that but the way he is a professional really puts you at ease as a filmmaker."
"This is the third film I am directing and all three of them have Mr. Mohanlal as a lead in it and it has been an absolute privilege because you know I am an actor primarily," he added.
Further adding why he loves working with Mohanlal, he said, "Directing Mohanlal sir is a constant reminder to me how I need to conduct myself as an actor because the way he surrenders to the material, to the director's vision is just a joy. He is one of those actors who has immense talent and yet completely surrenders to you and asks the director what needs to be done. What could be a bigger joy for any filmmaker? I think I am the most comfortable, cool, and not worried at all when I am directing him," he concluded.
