Empuraan Advance Sale: L2: Empuraan, the Malayalam action thriller, was released in cinemas worldwide on March 27, 2025. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran with a script by Murali Gopy, the film serves as the second installment in the planned Lucifer trilogy, following the 2019 hit Lucifer. Jointly produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Sree Gokulam Movies and presented by Lyca Productions, Empuraan also marks the first Malayalam movie to debut in IMAX format.

According to film industry tracker AB George, the advance booking for L2: Empuraan in regions outside Kerala for Day 3 has already crossed ₹4 crore. The Malayalam action thriller continues to register strong pre-sales across the rest of India, indicating sustained audience interest beyond its home state.

Set against a backdrop of political turmoil and international conspiracies, L2: Empuraan follows the intertwined paths of two men whose destinies collide across borders. As power struggles escalate in Kerala and beyond, the narrative uncovers hidden alliances, old rivalries, and unresolved wounds. The action thriller explores themes of revenge, redemption, and the cost of power in a world driven by deceit.

Empuraan Cast And Crew

Empuraan features an ensemble cast led by Mohanlal as Khureshi Ab'raam (also known as Stephen Nedumpally) and Prithviraj Sukumaran as Zayed Masood. Karthikeya Dev portrays a younger Zayed, with additional performances from Abhimanyu Singh as Balraj Patel/Baba Bajrangi, Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas, and Manju Warrier as Priyadarshini Ramdas. Other notable cast members include Andrea Tivadar, Jerome Flynn, Indrajith Sukumaran, Kishore, Sukant Goel, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Eriq Ebouaney, among others. The film also features cameo appearances by Kalabhavan Shajohn, Shaun Romy, Antony Perumbavoor, and Rick Yune.
