Empuraan To Release In 700 Screens In Kerala? The excitement surrounding the highly anticipated Malayalam action thriller L2: Empuraan reached new heights with the release of its teaser on January 26, 2025. Starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film is the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer and the second installment in the trilogy. L2: Empuraan is produced by Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Lyca Productions, marking the latter's debut in the Malayalam film industry.

The teaser launch, held in Kochi, attracted a star-studded crowd, with megastar Mammootty gracing the occasion as the chief guest, along with the film's principal cast and crew and other prominent personalities. The teaser introduces the mysterious character Steven Nedumpally, a savior with a dark and intriguing side as Ab'raam Qureshi, who leads the most powerful mercenary group in Asia. The film promises an exploration of power, betrayal, and control, blending elements of the political nexus with the world of mercenaries.

Industry tracker Kolly Corner recently tweeted that Empuraan is set to release in over 700 screens across Kerala, a move that would set a new record for the most number of screens for a Mollywood film in the state.
