Empuraan Closing Collections Worldwide: With a sequel to the highly successful political action-thriller written by Murali Gopy and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran starring Mohanlal, the makers of Lucifer 2 aka L2: Empuraan have shattered the newly established Malayalam industry all-time records within a matter a few days. Following the hyped and celebrated theatrical debut of Empuraan on March 27, the movie which became quite controversial, earned mixed reviews for the story, narration, and its themes, irrespective of the controversial elements. However, that did not deter the film's craze and performance at the box office one bit as it quickly dethroned 'Manjummel Boys' as the all-time Mollywood record of the highest-grossing film.

According to the latest update, the action-thriller which was made on a budget of Rs 180 Crore by the Aashirvad Cinemas, Lyca Productions, and Sree Gokulam Movies banner jointly, earned Rs 265 Crore from the box office worldwide (all languages) and a whopping Rs 325 Crore by selling the digital, satellite, and audio rights for all languages. The figures are obtained from various online reports and are calculated based on the active performance of Empuraan at the theatres worldwide.

Empuraan OTT Release Date Announced

The digital streaming platform and the makers of this highly prestigious project announced the OTT release date of Empuraan's Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada versions. With an official poster featuring the OTT release date, Mohanlal surprised the fans who went crazy for the film after its theatrical release. However, the movie's Hindi version date has not been revealed and it might take another week for it to make the streaming debut.

The action-thriller's cinematography was handled by Sujith Vaassudev and edited by Akhilesh Mohan. Deepak Dev composed the film's entire music and sound. Murali Gopy wrote the movie's story and script.
