Honey Rose Declares War On Obscene Social Media Commentators, Stands Up For Women’s Dignity

Honey Rose Vows Legal Action Against Obscene Social Media Comments: Malayalam actress Honey Rose, in her latest social media post, spoke out in defense of her personal dignity, asserting that she has never appeared in public wearing attire that would breach Indian laws. In the powerful post, Honey Rose emphasized that while she welcomes constructive and creative criticism, as well as humor about her attire or persona, she believes that such remarks must be made within reasonable boundaries.
"I have never appeared in public wearing any attire that violates Indian laws. I am not responsible for individuals creating their own laws based on their thoughts," the actress stated. She went on to explain that attending events she is invited to is part of her professional duties as an actress, adding that she does not take offense to thoughtful feedback or light-hearted humor about her appearance.
However, Honey Rose made it clear that she does not tolerate obscene or indecent remarks. If faced with such comments, she vowed to take legal action in accordance with the Indian Penal Code. "If there are obscene and indecent remarks made in criticism against me, I will come to you after studying all the protections provided to women under the Indian Code of Law," she said.
The actress also expressed her determination to stand up for other women who may be subjected to similar harassment, declaring, "Once again, I, Honey Rose, declare war on you, the vulgar obscene language pundits on social media, and on behalf of all women who are going through the same situation."
Police Detain Man For Offensive Comments Against Honey Rose
Her statement comes after a recent incident involving derogatory comments made on social media in response to her post, where she addressed the harassment and insults she has been facing from an unnamed individual. She emphasized the impact of repeated stalking and the use of double-meaning statements.
Following this, on Monday, January 6, 2024, as reported by The Hindu, the Ernakulam Central police took into custody a man, identified as Shaji, aged 60, from Kumbalam, in connection with a case registered for offensive comments made under Honey Rose's social media post. The complaint was lodged after the actress reported 30 individuals who had posted inappropriate remarks.
Reports suggest that the case has been filed under Section 75 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for sexual harassment and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form. This incident underscores the ongoing battle against online harassment, with Honey Rose taking a strong stand against the rising trend of misogynistic comments on social media.
