On August 28, two films were released in the cinema halls. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra and Hridayapoorvam hit the silver screens, promising to entertain the audience and take them on fun-filled ride. Opening with positive reviews, the two films earned decent numbers on the first day of release.

Good content will always sell like hot pancakes, and these two films have proved the saying right. While one is a superhero film, the other is a slice-of-life drama with an accurate dose of romance. Both films have managed to woo the audience, earning brownie points for the presentation and impeccable performances of the lead artists.

While Hridayapoorvam won the box office battle on the first day, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra didn't stay far behind in the race. Mohanlal's stardom played an instrumental role in the first day box office collection reaching the sky in the overseas markets. The film co-starring Malvika Mohanan minted over Rs 8 crore at the worldwide box office, securing the third spot in the list of highest opening Malayalam films of 2025.

Kalyani Priyadarshan also packed a solid punch with her magic in the cinema halls. Her film Lookah earned Rs 6.6 crore on the opening day at the international box office.
